“The true warrior knows himself, knows his limitations. Self-Mastery is a warrior’s central motivation! He is always practicing, always seeking to hone his skills, so as to become the best possible instrument for accomplishing his mission. The warrior takes calcuated risks and tests himself repeatedly. He believes in something greater than himself.”
” Implementing manual therapy sessions with Dylan Wiebe RMT in conjunction with my training sessions with Michael Martinz were essential in my performance at the Leigh Brandt Muscle Classic, placing 1st in the Men’s Light Heavyweight Bodybuilding division.
A grueling 12-week contest preparation plan takes a heavy toll on the body. Lifting weights during intense, high-volume training sessions not only results in muscle hypertrophy, but also a shortening of muscle fibers, which in turn restricts range of motion.
Like many others, I don’t stretch on a consistent basis and suffer from impairments in range of motion, strength and recovery. These are all undesirable traits as they affect my performance in the gym and on stage. Attending manual therapy sessions with Dylan throughout the 12 weeks prior to contest time enabled me to achieve full range of motion as well as increased recovery after workouts. With complete range of motion restored, I am able to reap full rewards from weight training by executing proper form. With my experience, muscle size notably increased due to the elongation and stretching of the shortened muscle fibers. In addition, with greater recovery I am able to train longer, harder & more frequently during contest preparation.
Manual therapy is an important tool for me; not only in recovering from damage sustained in the weight room, but also for increasing muscle volume and strength performance. “
“Dylan Wiebe’s athletic sponsorship facilitated my improvement in golf during the off-season, and helped maintain my highest performance during the regular season. After the 2016 golf season, I began my training with Dylan to prepare for the 2017 season. During this off-season, Dylan created a structured exercise and diet plan, focusing on gaining power and stability in key muscle groups in the golf swing.
Though gaining strength and stability in the off-season was critical to my performance, a greater contributing factor to my success was the therapy sessions I had with Dylan. Golf is a sport that is heavily reliant on mobility; as I became became stronger throughout my training, Dylan helped me maintain my mobility to maximize the effectiveness in my golf swing. This combination of strength and mobility training through gym and therapy sessions allowed me to create more effortless power in my golf swing. Because of this, I was able to increase my yardages from the 2016 season, increasing my level of competition and helping me succeed.
After our work in the off-season to gain strength and power, it was essential that I kept my flexibility during the season in order to play to my upmost potential; Dylan consistently helped me play my best throughout the season by helping me maintain a full range of motion through his therapy sessions. The 2017 season was my most successful season in my junior golf of career with the help of Dylan. Some of my highlights include leading the Junior division of the Maple Leaf Junior Tour in cumulative Order of Merit Points, having 2 wins on the tour. I also played very well in other regional, provincial and national tournaments; regional achievements include winning the Okanagan Golf Club and Predator Ridge Junior Club Championships, as well as a Zone 2 event at The Bear. Other achievements include placing 27th at BC Junior Championships in Squamish, and 23rd in the Future Links Pacific Championship in Chilliwack.
I am very thankful for all the work Dylan has committed to improving my golf game contributing to my 2017 success. I look forward to working with him in the future.”
